Photographing weddings is what launched my career, after spending years studying and obsessing over fashion photography, dresses and styling this felt like the most natural next step.

My Uncle who taught me everything I know warned me never to photograph events.. I’m sorry Uncle Paul but I’m 10 years in now, I don’t think there’s any going back! His fear of events photography came from the risk of losing a roll of film to light exposure and never being able to recreate that moment, and although now we are lucky enough to have modern technologies that help us keep this worry at bay. The fleeting moments of weddings that can’t be recreated is exactly the thing that keeps drawing me back in.

Each wedding brings together a whole different set of ideas, passions and personalities. So in actual fact I’m allowed to fall in love with my job all over again each time I’m blessed to photograph one. 

I find with almost every job, I imagine how these images are going to become heirlooms, passed down for generations to come. I think about how each year when the wedding album comes out they’ll be laughter and tears reminiscing on stories I’ve captured and been able to provide a living memento to take you right back to that exact feeling.
